What is the MLS™?

The MLS or otherwise known as the Multiple Listing Service is a member based service, paid for by members of the local real estate Board. It is a database of virtually every property for sale in a specific area. Our local service is referred to as the Northwest Multiple Listing Service (NWMLS).

As member real estate agents we can access the MLS to advertise the properties we have for sale to cooperating members and search for properties for potential buyers. The MLS is typically limited to licensed real estate agents and provides detailed information that may not be available to the general public.

The main advantage of the MLS to sellers is that it exposes their home to every agent member and lists the commission to be paid if they bring a buyer to the seller.

Most all real estate related websites that allow you to search for properties are pulling the information from the Multiple Listings database.
